Villegas vs. Valadao: Where California's 22nd District Candidates Stand

Randy Villegas says local police should not cooperate with ICE and wants to limit ICE’s role, opposing a federal E‑Verify mandate and pushing to end private immigrant detention. David G. Valadao supports higher ICE funding and says ICE should focus on removing criminals, while also backing bipartisan bills that give legal status to farmworkers and other undocumented residents.

Randy Villegas seeks a balance between water deliveries and environmental protection, emphasizing safe drinking water for towns like Arvin and prioritizing small‑ and medium‑sized farms while urging closed‑loop cooling for new data centers. David G. Valadao pushes for more water allocations from the south‑of‑Delta Central Valley Project, increased above‑ground storage, and highlights $540 million in federal funding for California storage and conveyance projects such as the Friant‑Kern and Delta‑Mendota canals.
